Russia’s first embryo transfer in show jumping horses
Alir Embryos is a specialized reproductive technology laboratory in horse breeding, based at “Vivat, Russia!”. The lab team was the first in Russia to successfully thaw and transfer frozen embryos of show jumping horses — a result reported by the Equimedia media platform.
Embryo cryopreservation makes it possible to preserve the genetics of outstanding sport mares without interrupting their competitive careers, and to transfer embryos to recipient mares at the optimal time — regardless of season and geography.
The laboratory’s work is also viewed in the context of the broader conversation about horse cloning technology in Russia.
